What information does Career Check collect?

Unlike Pekanga's school platform, Career Check does collect personal data, because it's a paid product that delivers a report to your inbox. When you buy a report, we collect:

If you use the "resend" or "forward to a friend or advisor" option, we also process the recipient email address you provide, for the sole purpose of sending that copy.

03

Why do we use your information?

We use your email to deliver the report you've paid for and to send a purchase receipt. We use your quiz answers to generate your report content, and nothing else. We only send marketing email if you've separately opted in, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

04

What is our legal basis for processing?

We process your email and quiz answers under contract (Article 6(1)(b)): it's necessary to deliver the report you've bought. Where you opt in to marketing, that's based on your consent (Article 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time. We also rely on legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) for basic site security and understanding how the page is used, so we can improve it.

05

Who do we share your information with?

We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with employers, advertisers, or any other third party for their own purposes.

To deliver the product, we share the minimum necessary data with:

06

Cookies

We use essential cookies required for checkout to work, and privacy-preserving analytics that do not track you individually. If we introduce non-essential cookies in future, we will ask your permission first.

08

AI and automated processing

Career Check uses AI to generate your report from the quiz answers you provide: a task-level risk breakdown, alternative career suggestions, and a personalised next-steps plan.

The AI does not make any decision that has a legal or similarly significant effect on you. It generates information to help you think about your career, the decision about what to do with that information is always yours. The report is for information purposes only and is not a substitute for professional careers advice.
